Hey all. Finally got around to rebuilding the forks on my 97 flht. One of the studs that hold the fork cap broke a while ago. I ordered the colony replacement kit off of eBay. They said it fits my bike. Not so.
The studs are not listed as a separate item on the parts finders on line (it is part of the slider). Anyone happen to have an HD part number, or a source for these studs?
Are you talking about the stud that goes in from the bottom that holds the cap for the axle on the right side? I see in 97 or 98 they don't list for your FLHT. They do list it for my 98 Fatboy and I couldn't see why it would be different...if so 45998-73. found them here..... https://www.ebay.com/i/253205049977?chn=ps&dispItem=1

These do not work. I do know that the thread is 5/16 18.

They look to be correct and yea 18 on the pitch sounds right.
Wrong thread. I called my local dealer and they ordered me some genuine motor parts, actually cheaper than the colony ones.
I wish I found this thread sooner... I ordered the Colony 8826-6 replacements.... they claim they are direct replacement for HD #45998-73, but as mentioned above, the thread is wrong!
flhchaz... did the ones Harley send you fit correctly?
