Default Chrome Shops

I have some parts I'd like to send out to be chromed. Anyone have first hand experience with a chrome shop you'd recommend?

Thanks.

Bit of a long shot, but have you checked out the HDF sponsors? Just possible there's one - try the Vendor Directory in the blue bar above.

They're all out of business around here. EPA thing I believe. There is a company called Brown's that is in the Midwest that is popular in some of the hot rod forums.

I thought Brown's went under. Yeah, the feds shut them all down, I think. There is one not too far from me here in Bumfuq, AR. Some of the guys in my English car club have used him. I called him up once to get some drag pipes chromed for the sporty and he wouldn't do it.

I can remember when I was looking to re-chrome my rims I saw some chrome exchange shops. They also do odds and ends.. easy to fine but don't know much about them.

More local to you, here on Long Island. I've never used them but i'm sure they'll work...

That's a common problem, as a secondhand exhaust contaminates the chemicals they use. There was a plating company over here many years ago who would do a limited number of items when the chemicals were due to be replaced.

St Louis Plating does good work for a fair price.

Just stay away from any CA based company. CA chrome is crap. Cats around here have sent stuff to TX but I don't know shop names.

Jake, I know a guy in Sparks NV that does quality work. Reasonable prices and they use the old school chemicals that California banned.
It's called ABC plating. Keep that in your back pocket next time you need some work done near Calif.
