Default Idle control cable

I have the tape hooked on the other end. The part that goes into the carb. I'm needing to get a cable 3 to 4 inchs longer and one that doesn't have a 90 degree bend to match the other

I'm assuming it's woven chrome braided.

My question. A good place to order, what length and bend

Well, you can use much shorter than OEM when you don`t have handlebars...

You will need to determine the length of cable you need, we can`t help from here.

But once you know how long the cables need to be, give Barnett a call, they will make up any cable you need.

Are you saying that you have one cable that is the correct length? If so you have your answer! If not, what do you actually have and why are you asking about only one of the pair of cables? We can work so much better when fully informed!

Of the 2 cables currently on the bike, neither is stock length, the throttle is 34" with a 70 degree bend and the idle is 30" with a 90 degree bend, plus since both cables are using cir clips to hold them in place they have to be 1996 and newer.

Like I mentioned many times about this bike, damn near everything has been changed from stock so this whole rebuild is one big learning curve.

Dennis Kirk has a drag specialties 32 1/2" with a 70 Degree that should be a fitter, BUT I'm probably better off getting one that matches the throttle in case I opt for taller bars down the road.

With your new color scheme of black and grey I'd change all your cables to black cables. JMO

I was talking to Omaha and he made a good point that an idle cable isn't necessary to the operation of your bike.
Basically if you wanted to you could just leave it off but I'd do something to plug the hole it goes into to keep dirt out of the throttle area.

Here's the single cable throttle I was talking about.

As near as i can figure, the return cable requirement came about decades ago from some government regulation. I guess it's possible that the return spring on the carb could break, or maybe something happens that causes the throttle cable to bind up and not return to "zero", but that all seems pretty far fetched to me. In the unlikely event something like that happens, you still have a kill switch.

Single cable could be in the works. This site is the best.
