Hey guys I scratched the inside of my valve guide. A friend of mine works in a machine shop and said he can hone them. My question is what diameter cant he go over honing them ? Or what is the recommended diameter ? The scratchs themselves dont appear that deep in the guide and the valve moves relatively freely. Should I even go through doing this or just put the valves in and run it? I just dont want to get it all together and end up having to take it apart again. Thanks in advance
I wouldn't take a chance and take the head to a reputable Indy and have the guide replaced with good bronze guides. Parts might be $25 and labor one hour.. why take a chance..

Even tho the Evo is better in this regard than a Shovel... You still need a valve job after Guide replacement...
have yer Indy run a Go, No-Go and see.....
