Dash wire ??
I had my dash off today to change bulbs to LED so i could see the damn speedo,,and i have a wire in there not hooked up,,ot;s white with green stripe,,any ideas i've looked everywhere online and can;t find it and my manual got wet so it;s useless until my new one arrives..the wire comes from the speedo...it's a 87 FLHS,,same dash as my shovel bagger,,, i didn;t want to pull it if someone knows what it is for ..THX
Not sure about your bike but the white wire with a green stripe that comes out of my speedo goes to my turn signal module and it tells the module when to turn off the turn signals.
I'm not sure if an '87 has a turn signal module ( I don't think it does).
If it doesn't then my bet is that sometime in that bikes past someone replaced the speedo with a newer model.

Hess called it.
Dash was made to operate the AVC on radio equipped Dressers. If you look closely, you'll see it's kind of separate of most the dash harness and runs to the top of the speedo portion of the blue plastic tub.
