evo electronic igition question
Hi everybody,
sold my 2005 dyna, now contemplating buying an evo 1998 fatboy.
It has open filter, slip ons, CV carb (probably jetted)
To get similar performance than the twin cam, i want an andrews EV27 cam built in. The harley Dealer says it wil be fine, but im not sure about igition. I found some info that the standard ignition is set too late to meet emission regulations..In standard form it is fine, but in my case, to get the bike to run right, it should need the timing set earlier. But i also see a lot of you that have dynatec 2000 or someting similar.

- Will it run without adaptions?
- What plug and play option makes the bike run best in your opinion? (i dont want to make the effort of dyno tuning)
- does single fire vs double fire make a lot of difference in performance?

the PO of my bike did just that, he did a 27 cam and a dyna 2000 ignition module, he had the stock cam sensor . which i just replaced
s&s carb, and filter , my bike is a 98 fatboy also .. bike runs strong fires right up.. i did play with the timing myself . easy enough with the stock sensor
he did other stuff also head work and all ... but id say you would be fine with that
