Default 1986 FXSTC Candy Burgandy Color

Does anyone have the HD paint code for the Candy Burgandy they used on the 2 tone 86 FXSTC? I have a few rock chips I would like to touch up. I'd also love the code for the burgandy frame. Even just the HD number(s) would help my search. Thanks.

Have the list back to 87, your maroon looks to be a non-candy color, the center color is candy, maybe OEM custom. Good paint vendors have a scanner that can tell them the paint code by just putting it on a panel. Since it looks like your bike is still mobile, having it scanned is a option if nobody can produce the paint code.

This is stock original paint. Both the red and burgundy on the tins are candy. The frame is just a straight color, no pearl or flake. Haven't had much luck with the gun on these sparkly colors... Otherwise I'd just do that, my cousin owns a body shop. I was hoping to get the HD number, then search or original paint or touch up.

It stinks that color codes only go back to 1987. I think I have my '86 ID'd as Dark Candy Plum. Is it similar to yours?

Purple in the sun

Looks blackish when not.

Hard to make it look right. My understand is that the paint is a base coat, a number of tinted clear coats to give it depth and then the last protective clear coat. It may even have a lighter colored primer so it lightens the base coat a bit.

That is a similar color to my 1992 FLHTCU that I had to match as close as I could so I could just do a base/clear. Ended up using a BMW color.

You may want to ride up to a paint supplier, take some chips outside and match up something. We tried to do the light meter but it didn't even get close.
