I lived in New England for 19 winters, last tank of gas with stabil, then ran dry.

It worked fine on motorcycle, mower, chain saw etc.

There is a screw at the bottom of gas bowl, you access it between the cylinders from opposite side
of the air filter. It drains the entire carburetor. I do it before every prolonged bike storage, never had
any carb problem.

I live on Long Island and try to ride at least every couple of weeks when possible during the winter. I use Sea Foamin everything year round and never have a problem with my Harley, Lawn mower, Snow blower, Etc. when they have to sit for a while.

Has worked better than anything else for me. Going on 46 years and to many bikes to count. There is some shitty fuel out there working against you.

I'm in the same boat, been 10-11 years since my last carbed bike and now I got this 90 FXRS. I think dry vs wet carb storage is just like an oil thread, everyone like they way they do it and the other is the wrong way. I've been of the mind to not drain the bowl or gas tanks, with the unpredictable temperature swings of Iowa during the winter, a full tank and carb give water and condensation less of a chance to form. Either way, I'm sure you'll be fine as long as you use some sort of stabilizing agent.

This bike is 25 years old and lives in Wisconsin. It has spent time parked in the winter. Parked with a full tank of non ethanol fuel a couple OZ of sea foam . It has in 25 years never had any carb work done to it.
Don't turn this in to a major project . It is not that big a deal.
Frosty morning . think I will have another cup of coffee before the ride.

I fill up the gas tank with a fuel stabilizer, run the bike for a minute, turn the petcock into off position and let the bike run until it stop.
