I've been riding my Street Bob Lot lately and haven't paid much attention to the Fatboy (mainly because of a right front fork seal leak). Well the last couple of times I had it out on small errand like trips I noticed on hard acceleration it didn't seem to want to really go . I haven't been running the Wego so I didn't notice any visual issues with the AFR's.. So the other day I took it out again (to get Primary oil for the Street Bob) and while sitting at a red light I'm casually looking down around the motor and that's when I saw on the S&S carb that I forgot to put the External Air Bleed back in the last time I was servicing the bike... Without it the main jet wasn't coming in at all.. Good thing I have a Thunder jet to cover the high rpm's. So after putting Ina Mikuni 120 jet in I took it for a little ride and all I could say was yup, that's my baby...
I think my mind is starting to go because the reason I had to go get the primary oil for the Street Bob is because of an even bigger and embarrassing bone Head move.. lol, like I saidi think I'm losing it...
Well, don't know about "bone head" but, most of the time for me it's a distraction that derails what I'm doing. Happens once in a while.
I've even walked to the shop knowing what I need, get there, and say, "what the hell did I come out here for"? Anyone that denies doing this is uh, mistaken.

I once left a rag in my carb while working on the bike, looked right at it and said to myself "don't forget that rag" and forgot it, luckily it was a CV and the slide kept the rag from being sucked into the motor when I tried to crank it, I wanted to have a banner made to hang outside my shop that said, "one stupid mother f'r works here".
I leave the position sensor out almost every time I change the oil, then crank the engine... you would think that cleaning the mess up would have some effect on my memory.
