Firing issues
1996 heritage softail.
Well guys not sure but I may have screwed up big time.
Wanted to test Stator but battery was down so I hooked up charger turned on 15amp setting and tried starting, no go so thought I'd leave it a few minutes and come back.
Well a few minutes turned into about 45 and when I got back to it I realized my dumb **** left the switch on and now I have no fire at the plugs.
Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting?

Sorry maybe I didn't make myself clear.
Bike was running when parked but having charging issues.
Tried to start to check Stator and battery was low so put 15amp charger on battery and accidentally left switch on for 45 minutes now no fire at plugs so won't run to check stator.

Don't know what type of ignition you have but back in the day you could fry your coil if it was in the "closed" position and left your key on. Basically overheated the coil. I'd start there.
May have fried battery. Charge at 2 amps until charged, if it will. Should read low 14- high 13 volts. Let sit several hours off charger. Voltage should be at 12.6. If bike won't turn over normallyseveral times, battery is toast. As .mentioned, coil could be cooked . Bad battery may not provide a strong enough spark to fire it up.
If it will fully charge and not go below 12.6 volts at rest, take it to auto zone and have it load tested. It's a free test, and will resolve whether your battery is the problem or not. 2 amp max amps charging is the standard, not designed for more.

Some, maybe most or all electronic ignitions can be damaged by being powered without the engine running for an extended amount of time. Points ignition would burn the coil out usually as well as pit the points and fry the condenser. Electronics won't take out the coil but can damage the pickup and/or module if left on a long time..
Need to get the battery charged, tested and tell us what ignition it has so we can give you the simple troubleshooting steps for the ignition...
