Default cop seat

Hello again.Does anyone know if you can still buy a cop seat from the dealerships(complete system with the air shock) that they used on the cop bikes i think up until 1996 after that they(motor company) went to a different type all together with it's own air compressor, inferior in my opion?I was told by a dealership a while back that it can be done but they were trying to sell a bike too,the price was going to be around $1600 usd..Can anyone else back up what this dealership told me?

As long as you can figure out the part numbers you can google them and either get the whole thing or piece it together from several sources. New Old Stock abounds if you search broadly enough. And if this style is not obsoleted by now The Motor Company may sell you the whole works....visit the parts desk at a well regarded dealer and have them look it all up...they could tell you a) they can get it....or b) it's obsolete and used/NOS is the only way) or c) some corner of the aftermarket makes a version of it and they should have all the big time aftermarket catalogs to help you look it up.

When searching ebay you have to be quite specific. Keyword stuffing makes unrelated offers pop up. The ones shown in the link are late model seats while you want the earlier version. The search term was vastly too wide and generic

Well thanks again jonnycando,i have followed up on it like you suggested by being more specific with my search terms and have come up with the air shock and mounting hardware and there is a saddle there for sale as well, not sure how it all goes together but i can figure it out if i ever get there.

Here's a limk for the 1996 police parts catalog

In 2013, HD went to the adjustable spring which repalced the air bag (air spring). The air bag was in use fron 1994. Here's a link to the 2013 Police parts catalog.
