Point taken, especially spelling, but this thread started in New Member Welcome Area. There is a specific note at header to not ask questions there.

I did take the important out of my introduction. However, it is if someone NEW forgets to mention year and all the letters in a question.

One year can make the difference in a fuse or hard ground or a BCM control.. À carburetor or a fuel injection. Open or Closed Loop.

Not sure why you didn't address the user's question however.

Ranger, this is the moved thread. The community leader move it to the EVO section. Posts in new member ares there get little tech advice since not a lot of members post there.

My @ to the community team in my post 5 flagged him. However in the past Buzzcap moderator after one Welcome usually would not move.

My suggestion to the user has been to repost in the proper area and put a short cut of it in my post. All a learning curve and the thoughts are always changing.

My 04 acts strange only in the winter in cold weather. It seems to work normal but at around 2500 or above starts bouncing erratically upward.

Checked ground and other connections. It's lead is off a pin in the speedometer. I assume the sync motor in the tach is bad. My post like your post never got many thoughts.

I agree, the tach is probably bad. You can check the signal with a digital multi meter.
It uses a negative ground pulse from you HI4.
If you're using the dual fire you have to use the wire from the module.
If you're using single fire, you can go off the signal wire from the coil.

The OEM tach's also have a potentiometer on the circuit board and through engine vibrations will go bad.. Causing an erratic needle response.
I've ad 2 of them go bad..
