Are you referring to your old disc or the current software from Dynatek website.? My story was tried to the run the program as I have done in the past (about a year ago?) and would not run, tried a few things with no success. Un-installed and re-installed from the website and out of desperation from a back up disc. Tried both methods multiple times.
Most recently yesterday, did a windows update, then tried again. No joy. Computer acts like the program wants to run but does not. Trying to start it, it asks if I "want to allow this unknown program to make changes to my hard drive" or something like that. I click yes, and then it tries to run but does not. I do notice that the computer slows down and runs slower AFTER I try to start the program. Slows down almost like something is taking up resources, or searching for a file. Reboot computer and the normal speed of the computer returns, try to start curvemaker program and computer slows down again. Rinse and repeat. Truly baffled.
I do have an even older laptop that still works, runs on windows XP with curvemaker loaded on it. In a pinch I can use that. Might even try it a little later today after playing with all the snow we got the other day.
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions on what to check to get it running, but not real computer savvy. I am part of the last generation that was NOT born with a computer in my hand...
Identical issues. Nor was I born with a computer coming out of my butt, but I manage.. I fired up the old Compaq Presario, it fired right up. I'll hook up a Chinese ignition module later today and post up results. I'll even compare a D2ki to it. I'll also check out my programable SE module that was made by Dynatek and rebranded for HD. We'll see what curves the SE module has.

Okay so I checked the three different ignition modules dynatech, Screaming eagle and the Chaiwanese crap... The only one that curvemaker would talk to was the D2KI, it wouldn't even talk to the Screaming Eagle module.. I guess to keep with any EPA settings they don't want anybody going in and changing the ignition curves. I couldn't even view them because it didn't see the module which is kind of too bad because I want to know what the ignition curves were like on the screen and eagle modules.. oh well, is what it is, 50 bucks is 50 bucks..
Here's a curve I used to run on my D2KI though without issue..

When everything works perfectly, it WILL NOT let you (or anyone else) see the curve that has been programmed into the module. Will only tell you whether it's set to switches or on e prom so no one else can see what curve you use.
If it has has been programmed and a pin set, unless you know the pin # no one can change. They do that so no one else can change what YOU programmed.

I like your curve. Had one very similar (WOT) to resolve a pinging issue after new cam and top end work. However my part throttle mirrored the WOT throttle but just came in sooner in the RPM's. Also, I topped out at 35 degrees advance. Did some rejetting and programmed the Dynatek curve #2 and all is good.

In all honesty this is where a thunderjet comes in. When you're really trying to get the maximum advance curve You can tailor the fuel delivery at specific RPMs so it doesn't create issues later on down the road..
As further curve maker software I don't know what it is with the newer computers works perfect in my old Vista...

I would think at this point, a phone call to Dynatek would resolve the issue because only they would know why it's not compatible with some operating systems but works perfect with others..
No. . It plainly says in the CurveMaker instructions They do nut work on computers and if you can't figure it out, take it some where that can. The PCs I listed earlier - one is XP another Win7 all others are Win10.

Double check what bit drivers the program is using, since if using 16 bit drivers, then will need to have windows 32 bit version, not 64 bit Windows.
The reason, you can only turn on 16 bit driver support in any windows 32 bit version, but do not have the option to turn on 16 bit driver suport in windows 64 bit versions.
So does not sound much like which version of windows you are using, but using an old program that has 16 bit drivers, and need to be running 32 bit windows, and turn on the 16 bit driver support in that 32 bit version of windows.

Thanks for trying to lend a helping hand. I have a 32 bit version laptop and I have run curvemaker on this computer without issue about a year ago. Now...not!
