You obviously aren't using it for anything important. Why not do a system reset?

if you have files/photos you want to keep, transfer them to a USB thumb drive beforehand.

Jmho, I don't think it's his computer or somehow a software got corrupt which can happen and like YD, I was not able to successfully download software from Dynatek. My new computer doesn't have a CD drive so I can't load my hard copy onto it and my software suite on my old computer works perfectly fine at 32-bit.
@Yankee Dog
You should PM me your address and I'll send you my disc and you can reload it on your laptop and go from there.. I think this is currently your best option..

Being that the it worked fine, then is did not, and the program works in a Jshell,
will go with Java update that killed it, and really only need to uninstall the Current Java version on the machine, and just reload the Jshell that comes on the disc alone.
Bottom of page one, just before over veiw, and keep in mind that if problem is Java update that killed the program, will need to unistall Java in windoes unistall programs and turn off Java updates, so Java does not update again, and kill it again after you have reinstalled the java shell.

Also, kind of lost, since sounds like old machine does have CD/DVD drive, so could use it to copy the disc to USB thumb drive on that machine, to use thumb drive on new machine to just reload the Jshell alone. Granted that laptops have not had CD/DVD drives in a long time, still find my self burning DVD ever so often from a laptop, so still have a USB plug in CD/DVD burner in the stash. If you check amazon, they go for less than $20 now.

Because I was having problems getting the downloaded software to run on my newer computer, I called Dynatek yesterday and spoke with Matthias..

He was able to help me get through creating a shortcut to put on my desktop. Because it's no longer an option on the install software.. You have to manually go to the D2Ki.exe file in the program x86 files under dynotech curve maker, right click it and create a shortcut to your desktop. Once done, no more issues to loading the program, itcomes right up..

I believe earlier in this thread I stated that I was going to check all the ignition modules I have to see if I can load them into curve maker to make changes. I had no issues with the D2KI however, when I try to look at the cheap chaiwanese and the screaming Eagle programmable adjustable ignition module neither of those two would communicate with a curve maker software. So I spoke to Matthias about this as well and he tells me that no it will not. The software is not set up to speak to those other modules. The only two modules that will communicate with curve Microsoft wear are the dynatech modules and the Ultima modules.

So we discussed the Screaming Eagle module because that was made by Dynatek and rebranded by Harley back in the '90s, and back then they did have software at one time to go into those modules but over time it was no longer available from them. He never did say why but the only thing I could imagine is that like the SEPST tuner, that Screaming Eagle put their name on and others, is that once you can go in and change parameters with that tuner it no longer makes the engine EPA compliant therefore discontinuing those products including the softwar

So the end result is there's only the two ignition modules that are tunable through the curve maker software. That's it..

98hotrodfatboy, That's some good info right there. Thanks for your help yesterday trying to get mine running. After I spoke with you, I went thru and checked for any remaining curvemaker programs running in the back ground or hidden somewhere. Other than an unopened zip file of the program in one of my documents folder, none to be found. I then removed my Java stuff, and then reloaded an up to date version of Java.

Then went back and downloaded the curvemaker from dynatek website and tried again. Still have the exact same issue. So just going to get a new battery for my old lap top and use that for curvemaker.

I think I will load the wego program on that old computer and a couple of other automotive diagnostic programs that I have and just use it as a dedicated "garage computer". I know it's just a work around and I should be able to resolve this, but it's beyond my ability at this point.

Of course I'm still going to try the CD you are sending me, but kind of pessimistically hopeful at this point. I really appreciate the effort.
