Interesting there is a spring inside the springer risers. What does it do?

yep… I’m not sure. Maybe the extra tension stops bolts from vibrating loose? I rally don’t know.

Supposedly there is a bushing and a spring inside them that is supposed to minimize vibration in the bars. I am guessing that is why the real HD ones on eBay are so stinking expensive.

I don't know if it's misinformation that was passed down through the years. But I was told the spring is to keep the ground circuit between the bars switchgear and the ground wire that is attached at the bottom of the bolt.

I believe you are correct. It's a ground.

There's a rubber bushing inside the riser itself and the spring makes the electrical connection from the handlebar to the riser bolt inside the riser.
