Default Comp sprocket wear

So I want your opinion on the teeth of the comp sprocket, I'm thinking more miles are left and not looking too bad.

Look good to me. I see really no wear, what I see is a little burnishing of the surface finish.

What new looks like.

Where is the wear? If you have over 100K on the bike, might want to change the primary chain.

When the teeth get sharp points, it's time to replace.. You're good.. Is that a Barnett setup on the clutch?? Looks good..

Interestingly when one looks at the two aftermarket items and compare them to the sprocket in the 40 year old bike.

The 40 year old sprocket when made back then appears to have after maching when to a deburr bench were someone broke all the edges by hand.

That's a roller chain. With an occasional clean oil, there is not going to be much actual wear.

Harley gives a wear specs on chain with the manual adjuster to replace chain if you run out of adjuster travel. As much adjustment as there is, I bet by then you could twist the chain 90 degrees.

Now the chain can wear and get longer with all those links. If you beat on it will wear uneven and you can actually run out of being able to stay in the minimum and maximum tolerance setting.

When chain gets like that, the primary can drive you crazy with that uneven noise.
