Default Need some torque values please.

97 flhtcui

Are there torque values for the handlebar clamps?
By which i mean the 2 large bolts that go trough the top yoke into the risers, as well as the 4 small bolts that clamp the bars to the risers.
I'm replacing the bushings in there hence the question.
I don't see anything in the manual.

Thanks

You can get a good idea here.

https://www.futek.com/bolttorque/american

The 5/16-18 are typically steel socket head cap screws so you can use grade 8.

The bottom ones may be grade 5 1/2-13

You can use a yield strength of about 40000 to 50000 for cast steel..

The attached provides most all torques. They do not change much year to year.

Handlebar lower clamp bolts (risers) 30-40 ft-lbs

Handlebar upper clamp screws 16-20 ft-lbs

I was shocked when I found out the clamp bolts are only supposed to be around 17-18 ft-lbs, I used to crank them down real tight. Now I have mine set at 18 ft Lbs. and they havent budged.
