Default going ape

Hey - I'm about to go to 18' Psycho Chubbys on my 94 Road King. I really want to have all the parts on hand before I begin but am at a lost as far as the lengths of the wiring harness and cables to order. I'm hoping that someone has done this and can tell me the lengths, or even point me to a 'helpful' supplier who might be able to look up the application and tell me. I know the obvious answer is to just start with the bars and figure it out after they're on, but I want to be able to hammer it all out over one night (and one six-pack).
Thanks.

I can't answer your question but I still have a story to tell you.
When I bought my wide glide it had 18" psychos. The previous owner loved those bars. He and I are both 6'5" tall. The bars looked radical but it felt awkward and I didn't like the blind spots with my hands up in front of my eyes. I sold them and bought 12" chubbies. Still looks like a chopper in my opinion. It lowered my hands to shoulder hight so I can see the traffic better. I can also tilt them down low enough to pass inspection, which could come in handy if I get pulled over and the cop has an attitude and a ruler with him.

The stock handle bar wires on my 85 have some crusty connectors under the tank that allow you to swap out the entire harness. The next time I have the tanks off I am going to remove those connectors and solder them directly (less electrical gremlins). I will still be able to swap out the harness because it runs to the terminal block under my seat and has push stye quick connects.

Good luck with the project.

Rob - thanks for the reply. I have 16 ' apes on my FXR and with the RK I want them a little higher. I like the stretch, but I know what you mean about the blind spots. I always remember what To-mater said: "I don't need to see where I'm going, as long as I know where I've been."
