Default EVO Cam Issues

I apoligize if this has been asked or covered before, but here it goes. I have an 05 Heritage (bought new) and it has been very well taken care of. Only have about 7700 miles on it. Anyway, started talking to a friend ofmine that is about 20 years older than me, and with tons of Harley experience and he said that beware when I get around 18,000 miles or so and the cam will probably be going out. Said it was just inherant to the EVO motor and if you have the extended coverage, they'll fix it, but they won't acknowledge the problem up front. Is this something that I have to look forward to? If it is, is there anything that will prevent the problem. Just seems weird thata manufacturer would knowingly produce a unit that is only good for less than 20k miles. Thanks!

If it's a 2005, are you sure it's an EVO motor? HD started putting Twin Cams in most models in 99 and 2000...

You'd better talk to that friend, as you have 2 cams in your motor, that's why it's called a twin cam.

I knew I came to the right place. Thanks guys. I'd better do some research and see exactly what I have. Other than the fact that I have a heritage, I don't know crap. Now, ask me how to put a sprint car together with my eyes closed and I can help you there. Thanks again. Feelin really stupid. : (
