New cam, lifters and pushrods. After the motor warms up sounds like a lifter making noise. The front exhaust push tube is moving back and forth. Pulled the push rod thinking it was bent. Its staight. Any idea what would make the pushrod to move sideways?
Thanks Quigley

If the lifter wasnt pumped up right the push rod would not go up and down like its supposed to. I dont see how that would make it go side to side.
Thanks Quigley

Are you running larger-than-stock diameter push rods? Fat pushrods sometimes hit the pushrod tubes. One other thing is if there is a dent in the pushrod tube, the pushrod can hit it. You should see evidence of the contact on the pushrod itself. Obviously, something in there is hitting the pushrod tube.

When it first started doing this I had replaced the cam and lifters and re-used the old push rods. I thought I had bent rod so I bought new ones and these are actually thinner in diameter. No dents in the tube. There is evidence of the rod hitting the tube, its towards the bottom of the rod. Is it possible that the rocker arm is moving side to side?

For some reason I cant edit my post. I should have said "it started doing this after I replaced the cam and lifters"

Ok. Just changed the lifter, pushrod and lifter block. Still push rod moves sideways when running. It has to be the cam or rocker?

Just looked at exhaust rocker. Everything is tight. Cant see anything wrong. The lifter is tight in the block so it cant be the cam can it?

Are ya sure you put the longest pushrod in the front exhaust? If you used a shorter pushrod there it might have the adjuster out so far it hits the tube when it rises up on the cam lobe.
That's all I can think of since you already changed everything else.
