Hello Everyone,
I'm thinking of doing a little work to the scoot over the winter. I have a set of Samson Ground Pounders on now, I'm thinking of replacing them with a Vance and Hines 2 into 1 system. Also a Mikuni HSR 42 with a Arlen Ness Stage 1 Big Sucker kit. If the finances are available also a single fire Dyna Ignition. Then for next year, head work and cam. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
Is the Super Trapp loud? The Samsons that I have now are freakin loud. I'm looking for a little quieter pipe. I like the sound of the Vance and Hines. I had a Vance and Hines pipe on a Jap bike that I had and was very pleased with it so I thought I would give another one a try. Thanks for the info.
I see you are from wisconsin also. Do you have snow in your forcast too? A couple of us are supposed to go on a poker run sat. night, but I don't think thats gonna happen.
I guess I was thinking of dinner when I wrote about suppertrap ! The Supertrapp 2 into 1 has a very mellow sound I run 22 discs do to engine size A little snow on the roof now its raining By the way the supertrapp system I have is polished stainless The big sucker air box is on my 93 FLHS along with an Andrews EV-13 cam and screaming eagle ign mod
I just bought a set of heads for 200 gonna have them tweaked. Gotta vThunder 3010 cam now, thinkin' about a woods 6. Have a kerker 2-1, and as far as I am concerned they are as good as the rest, much cheaper too. You can find those on ebay too, most of them are new or real close to it, and are take offs of big dogs, iron horse's and the like. You can usually pick them up for a buck and 1/2. A big savings over the rest, believe me. Check out nightrider http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/exhaust_test_01.htm. They know their stuff too. You'll probably have to change out your coil and ignition module too. Oh yeah, mine's a stc 99 too... Just got tired of that skinny little tire and wheel. Like more rubber hittin' the road...
Thanks for the advice. I like the way that looks with wide tire. I'm thinking of going with an Andrews EV 27 cam for now and Dyna Ignition, JP Cycles sells a Dyna kit with the module and coil for 384.00 but I'm going to try and find it cheaper. This kit also converts it to a single fire.
I have the crane Hi 4 single fire, plug and play into the stock module, (which was nice)
and coil. Currently runnin' at 70 and about 71 HP and torque, respectfully.
Don't know if I'll achieve that much more with tweakin' the heads, hoping for 12-15 ponies more at least. I don't think that's unreasonalbe, but I don't think that it'll much more than that with the stock bore, with out boring out the cases.....
Thanks for the compliment..
I read somewhere but I can't recall exactly where, but it was a bunch of dyno information, that a guy had screaming eagle heads,an andrews EV 27 cam, Mikuni carb and ignition, but I'm unsure if which but the dyno pull showed 85hp and the torque wasn't far off of that. I'm going to have Branch Flometrics do my heads when I get that far. There is alot of power to be made from headwork. By the way the 85hp motor was with a stock bore and pistons. I'll see if I can find that info.
