I think you can find more enjoyment on an 89 Evo than on a late model Twinkie.
True enough and I will find this out seeing as I already own an 02 WG. My buddy has an 87 fxrc , very fast and have quite a few hours wrenching on it.
Rivercityslim Nice bike by the way.
Well aparently one of the previous owners thought he could stop a rear cylinder leak using a bunch of epoxy at the base of the jug .
I got a mechanic doing the safety so I can drive down and pick it up , he said bike sounds good and just needs lite bulb, rear brake pressure switch, horn and front tire other than that it sounds good.
Ok I'm wandering if I may have made a mistake this is the vin I got emailed to me 1HD1DFL10KY DF - FLHTP - Police with fairing notice what the 5 and 6 digit stands for I looked up for vin's . These are pics from the car lot, I had been wandering what was up with the extra round lites on both sides of the licence plate braket, I think this was a cop bike at some time, if this is true is it abad thing? I did hear sometime ago the police bikes are a heavier duty motor.
Only noticable differences will be the saddlebag lids (hardware) It came out with the best OEM cam for sure, if it's not been changed. The charging system will be the heavier 32 amp version and the handlebar controls may be slightly different. Possibly the brake linings and starter were a different spec, originally. Not sure about anything else without getting hands on an FLHTP parts book. Everything will interchange perfectly with the non-police models.
Nothing wrong with a cop bike unless it's behind you with the lights on!!! There are a lot of little differences between them as stated in an earlier post, most of them are for the better.
