Default They call it the Evolution...

Because it gets better each time you ride it.

Just expressing how happy I am with my purchase. After numerous metrics, which were good bikes, there is just something about this evo fatboy that to me is just, well, the way a bike should be.

Besides, "if you have to go to work, what better way to go".

Couldn't agree more. I got rid of a Shovel to buy this Evo and I ain't lookin back. I'll get another old bike soon, but never again as my primary ride. This Evo just makes me smile and gives me zero greif.

Cool

I absolutely agree with u! the fisr cruiser a I road was a 1600cc Yamaha Road Star, a GREAT bike, no questions asked, revved nicel, plenty of torque and the power! oh man! even bone stock!
but when I switched tomy 1995 fatboy... well... it's a totally different world, it is lighter that the yammy but in an open twist ofthe throttle the sucker lifts off and ur already on the moon! besides...the sound of a harley is a MUST, cannot say I like the sound on the TC too much though, the EVO definitely has the best harley sound. My dad has a 2005 road king and he loves they way my fatty sounds, he keeps claiming "that is the harley sound, that right there"

BEST ENGINE EVER BUILT

"the EVO definitely has the best harley sound"

Ouch.....Since we're both newbies here I feel we can be frank. I wouldn't make that statement in front of a bunch of old timers with Pan's Knuckle's and Shovels. 'Cause I really love my Low Rider, but we've been makin' fun of the Evo and Twinkie sound for 25 years. Evo's can be made to sound very nice, thats a fact, but they don't have the same classic sound of the old bikes, and never will. Flame away guys.

I have drag pipes on my 99 Softail Custom, and when it is cold, and idling slow, it sounds just like a pan at idle. Granted, the old shovels and pans were, are, unique. So was my old "45" flat head. I will take the sound of the EVO along with the reliabillity any day. Although that old "45" was a pretty tough motor, Just not a lot of power.

At the risk of getting "hazed" I will voice my own opinion; I absolutely LOVE the sound of my EVO!
I love the "hum" of a Pan motor! Nothin' and I mean nothin' comes even close to the sound of a shovel with drag pipes!
Seems like with the EVO they lost some of the sound quality that they had on some of the older machines. It is a very small price to pay for the reliability. Seems like they lost even more of that Harley sound with the Twinkies. I feel confident in saying this because I own an EVO and a twin cam. I love them both dearly....make no mistake about that! It is what it is.
