There really isn't a definitive number because there are so many variables:actual engine RPM's(not what the tach says), the gauge, engine clearances, oil temperature, engine temperature, oil pump clearances, by-pass spring settings, and on and on. It's kind of like asking "how far is up??". As I stated before under normal circumstances the range of 7-10 lbs per 1,000 RPM's is usually accepted as "normal". At an idle with no load on the engine you can get away with slightly less, but not much. Hope this helps.

My old Ultra has about 8 psi at idle on a hot day after riding awhile. With the original jetting in the carb, it would drop to 0 with the oil light flashing occasionally at idle. Now with it jetted richer, it runs noticeably cooler, and the pressure reads higher. I know these numbers are accurate as I tested my oil sender and gauge. My gauge actually reads 3 psi low, and my light comes on just about 2.5 psi.
Dude, your idle is set too low if your oil light is coming on. I believe that the Evo is suppose to idle at 1000 RPMs.. When I had a Shovel and even my Pan the idle was very low with a distinct thump of the pistons. But not my Evo.. To tell the truth I do miss the sound of the very low idle. Oh well it is not a Shovel! Bump your idle.

btw, my pressure is fine.

My old gauge that came on bike when i bought it didn’t work. I bought this gauge recently, it is meant to work on the Harley EVO motor. It says 22 psi. At idle speed.

That's pretty high for idle.. I would imagine somebody probably put a different relief spring in it or something..5-7 is normal at idle 950-1000 rpm....

You beat me too it...the good thing about an oil light over a gauge is that you can see it while riding and you don't obsess about oil pressure.
