1998 "mileage/odmeter" replacement
Hello Folks,
Have a 1998 Road King Anny, and while the speedo is working fine, the LCD mileage / odometer is bleeding the #'s, whereas I can not read the first 3 digits.
I know there is a retrofit kit ($273) #67033-95D, which you have to cut all 12 wires from the back of the old speedo, crimp 12 new Deutsch connectors, and reconnect to the new speedo . . .
But since the ONLY &#&#&#& problem is the mileage odometer LCD, is there a way or has anyone just replaced the LCD mileage/odometer unit, and if so any advice, suggestions or precautions?
In advance, thanks . . .

Aint that no lie, i just replaced my uncles speedo on his 96, i got a brand new one off ebay, for 78 bux, You have to search it many ways such as rk speedometer, road king, roadking, flhr, and different stuff pops up, hope that helps. chad.
Since you bought a newly used speedo off ebay, did you purchase the retrofit kit, 67418-99, which includes the duetsch mini terminals, (2) harness adapters . . . to connect to the newer speedo?
Where you able to use the old speedo's round clip to keep the speedo locked in place to the dash?
When you cut the wires at the back of the old speedo, did you have ample space to crimp on the duetsch round mini terminals, and have enough length in the speedo wires to connect to the new speedo?
What was the part # of the new speedo you used, as some of the newer speedo's will display, the engine, battery, & turn signal and other lights? And I think your old speedo only displayed (1) light?
When you replaced the old speedo, was there any wires to connect to a tach?
Thanks

I've never used them or had a need since all my junk is mechanical, but you might give this place a call - can't hurt.
