To add to my first post. I had the engine off the frame over winter to replace rocker covers, and paint engine. I followed book on install with all the torque specs. I have checked all bolts I can think of. Could it be in primary area, that is the only thing I could think of that I haven't tried yet.

Make sure your alignment is correct. I did an engine rebuild 2 years ago, and if you do not have the alignment correct, you will get/have excessive vibration. I was out approx 1/4 inch on the top mount.

What do you mean alignment. The front motor mount went on with no problem and top and bottom stablizers are one

Perhaps your bike is different, but on my '86 FLHTC, (rubber mount motor) the top (and bottom) has an adjustable linkage to align the motor.

The stabilizer ends should (and will) move or more correctly, swivel. The inner bushing is curved on the outer diameter and the outer ring is cupped around that bushing with rubber (or something) between the two. They are very stiff and basically shouldn't move by hand without a bolt or bar as a lever. They don't swivel much, just to allow for the slight angles of the mounting bolts and the ends on each link should be either flat (top mount) or at 90 degrees (bottom front link) If they are in a bind so the outer ring is jammed against the mounting bolt they will cause a vibration.

Did you have the vibration before replacing the mount and did you use an OEM or aftermarket engine mount? Did you align the rubber mount itself per the Service Manual?

The mount is oem, but the stabilizer ends don't move at all i'll have to start with that. I'll also have to find more info on the alignment process of checking and or correcting.

Make sure that nothing like the exhaust is touching the frame, floorboards or pegs as that will give you lots of vibration. Did it vibrate before the mount change??

Take a quick look at your tranny drive pulley as well. Make sure it has no movement on the shaft!

The swingarm is mounted on the back of the transmission, as also is the rear wheel. The engine/transmission/wheel assembly can be aligned within the frame, relative to the front wheel, by using the two adjustable stabilizer links (front and top of engine). By replacing the front or rear engine mounting rubbers there is a risk of disturbing that alignment.

If you don't have one get yourself a factory workshop manual, which explains both vehicle and wheel alignment (they are not the same thing!).
