Will go with OEM regulator the next time unless I decide to go with one of the "three phase" upgrades for more amps since I am running high watt/bright lights all around now. Also saw interesting comment about one guy who had "rubber mounted" his voltage regulator as he claimed the extreme shock and vibration they take bolted directly to the frame causes the insulator material to crack/leak moisture/lead to failure. He also said he grounds the unit directly to the neg. battery terminal with a wire instead of relying on the ground to frame ( esp. after rubber mounting it). I'm going to do that with the "American Made" regulator when I get it and also install a voltage monitor on my console to keep track of the charging system. I'll wire it to the down stream side of the "lights" circuit breaker to monitor the highest draw circuit. It goes in 2 volt increments from about 8 volts up to 16 volts and the led turns green at the 12 V mark I think.
