On my '93 Heritage, all the circuit breakers are under the dash. The jumper wire is a red wire mounted directly to tabs on the ignition switch.

Just remember the the lights load added to the starter load are no problem for a reasonable charged battery. Starter draws 160-200 amp. Light load is less then 10% additional. Sure there could be rare cases a bad battery were by not having the 15 -20 amp light load the starter may have that extra grunt to just get it started. That would not be worth it starting for me considering that more then likely you are going to forget to turn the lights on during the day once in a while. I carry the extra cord for my charger with the clips on it. Since I ride old stuff and nurse everthing just in case mine does not start I would jump the battery to a cager for about 15 minutes and then take it off. It will start.
Love MOM

I have a similar 1991 FLT Tourglide with fixed fairing. The fuses are bolted to the front of the top triple tree. You have to pull the gauge cluster (speedo & tach) off and undo speedo cable from speedo to completely remove gauge cluster. You will see fuses (probably 5 or 6 next to each other) on top of top triple tree and next to air suspension valve.

It would seem busterman can be more help than myself, I looked in my manual and it doesn't give much direction.

It unscrews from the back of the speedometer. I'm not sure what you have to take off to access the back of the speedometer though.

I know on my my the speed/tac is secured with 4 nuts on studs and I have to remove my batwing to get at it,then again once the batwing is removed there's no need to remove speedo dash, cable is right there to lOosen.

Take out the two bolts that fasten the rear of instrument cluster, you might have to take out small screw recessesed screw inside speedo trip meter set **** on left side of cluster and remove **** (I can get my cluster off without this step, but it makes it easier), and pull cluster back to release catch at front of cluster. Lift up cluster as far as it will come up and use a long pair of needle nose pliers to unscrew speedo cable from rear of speedo. The cable should be finger tight, but are sometimes tighter.
