Default Stage 1 completed

Well,

I got a call from our local dealer today, the EV 27 cam, Big sucker air breather, push rods and metal breather gear are installed and they have it running.

I'm completely out of mind with excitement...ok, wheres the warm weather?

That completes stage 1 of the planned up grades besides the carb work / mods, stay tuned for stage 2 ( make it look even more kick azz stage ).

They did say the the primary chain was max'd out and would need replacing and likely where the intermitent high frequency vibration was coming from due to rubbing.

I expected there may be a thing or two that needed attention, so it's all good.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!
You will be surprised at the difference that EV 27 makes (I was)

Hope the new chain fixes your vibration problems.

Just out of curiosity did you tell them to make sure the cam bearing was a Torrington?

I can't wait to be honest!

I sure did, they checked and they were torringtons, but replaced them while there all the same.

Bring on the warm weather! lol

Sounds awesome. I was happy with my EV27 but now I am thinking about heads and high comp pistons.

my 1985 FXWG was bone stock original (as far as motor) until last spring. I went with EV27, SE pushrods, B lifters, new intake and exhaust valves/springs, KB 9.5 pistons, and S&S Super E carb.

Loving it!

Well...

I went to pay for the upgrades to my ride last night, I arrived just as they were putting the derby cover back on. Appearantly the derby cover was leaking and they had reseal it.

I was asked by the mechanic if I wanted to here it run...that decsion took a fraction of a second! I said hell yah!

and omg...I was not disappointed it sounds beeeuuutiful!

We all stood there with big dumb grins on our faces, lovin it.

Then I was asked if I wanted to take it out and try it, I replied I didn't bring my helmet and such. They offered up a helmet to me prompting me to take her out.

I looked at my watch, thought real hard and said no....omg I'm such a dumb ***. lol

( I had a dinner date )

Been kicking myself all day, I likely won't get to ride it for another 5 months now. Aaargh!!!!

Face meet table!

Bang* stupid! Bang* stupid! Bang* stupid!

Wow, I think I would have just took it up the road and back. You had better be eating some good grub and maybe getting some dessert later tonight. I don't think I could wait for 5 month's, I would go out of my mind.

In February I picked up a bone stock 94 FXDS-CONV with 985 miles , rode Her for a couple hundred miles, then payed My local Indy a visit. I told Him I wanted Her to be right. It felt there should be more. Summary I went with the ev23 , 2 into 1 pro pipe , Avon Venoms , and K&N. The Indy did His voodoo on the carb and She came alive. So satisfied with Her performance, I need no other bike. It was a real hard decision between the 23 & 27. Congrats on Your mods.
