Put the jugs and heads on and torque them, let them set overnight and check the final torque again. Then finish the assembly.

Leave the intake off until you have the heads at the right torque. False torque reading from an intake bind is a bummer for the running motor.

Default oops

well i did torque fine. i had intake installed but totally loose it would flop up and down easily so im sure it didnt bind anything,in the morning only two bolts actually turned a little before click.

That's why we wait overnight to re-torque!!!

Default oomfudge

well i havent finished it yet.I went to my daughters softball game and like any 45 year old offered to help move a grill,and with beer in one hand grill in other the back went out. Not so tough now huh. Thank god the weather isnt cooperating, itll give me time to recoup.

Default check out motor fix

I felt i needed to start another thread for repairing the motor mount so look at motor mount fix.I also had to weld all the spider cracks on the exhaust pipe at the rear head.It all gets covered by heat shields so why not.

check out the motor mount fix thread.My scoot is back on the road, kinda .the rear jug has adjustable pushrods, now i have a ticking going on.i spun motor till lifter was at lowest point and tightened rod till it didnt make noise up or down but was able to spin freely. any thoughts?

Default back on the road

i had adjustable pushrods in the rear jug,as soon as engine got warm it would tick so i adjusted them up while hot alls quiet now. Now all i gotta do is get the weather and my back to cooperate, and im goin ridin
