Default '85 clutch cable

hello all, last night i pulled on the clutch and heard a pop and my stomach sank when the clutch lever went limp. after limping it home in second gear it looks like the clutch cable gave up. any tips for a quick swap for a new cable?

Just make sure you lube the cable, and while you are at it re-adjust the clutch.

I splashed out on a Diamondback - wonderfully smooth!

finally had time to take it apart today and found that i had to keep digging to find the actual problem. the cable was fine, the levers were fine outside of the kicker. open up the kicker and find pieces of the release finger. ordered a kit to replace the shaft, throw out bearing, finger, bushings etc.

as soon as I started reading the first post I was thinking release fingers. been there, done that. easy fix. but to talk about clutch cables - the barnetts are the slick ticket.

thanks for the support guys, waiting on parts now. it looks like a pretty straightforward install and reassembly.
