I think most have had less than perfect results with tank sealers.

Sorry, I have never re-coated a gas tank on a bike or other vehicle for that matter. I know there is a process to do it & chemicals out there for it.

Also what I was referring to was if the station sells E85 they could have mixed the gas by mistake or even at the distributor level it could have been done.

I've heard too many bad things about tank sealers. My bike came with an unsealed set of aftermarket tanks. I sold them an got a used factory set that were coated. If I were putting a custom aftermarket tank on I'd look into taking it to a radiator shop an have them coat it.
