Default tuning problems

I been trying to get my s&s super e tuned in but it keeps making front cylinder rich and the the rear leaner .It pulls hard and accelerates smooth ,but it has this continuous pop in the rear pipe that will not go away like a exhaust leak under a cruising load and at idle.I checked for intake leaks and none exist.I've put a new intake manifold on and it runs better but the problem remains the same. Its making the front plug wet and the rear hot to the point where its pushing the anti seize up the thread and discoloring the threads. It doesn't pop out the carb or out the pipes when decelerating.I have a daytona twintec ignition on it running single fire and multispark.I turned the multispark off and took it for a ride and when the motor got warm It started to miss a little I had to keep the revs up to keep it running smooth.I starting to wonder if my exhaust it the culprit.

I'm running V&H straight shots staggered with the baffles in.They are pretty much glorifed drag pipes.I'm wondering if they are causing a imbalance between the cylinders at low rpms.I ran these pipes with the cv carb I had on it and it ran fine.I wonder because the super e has a slightly bigger intake and no slide metering air.Its seems like its having a harder time balancing the cylinders. Its a stock motor other than the multiangle valve job it has when the I did the top end. I wonder if a 2 into 1 will help me out here or there's something I'm missing ?

One of the mysteries of life. I have the same problem with my SU, but not to the extent you may be having. It mostly pops through the carb in the mornings when it is cooler. Sometime in the 20 mile ride to work 5 or 6 times, other times not at all. The front plug is black but not wet and the rear plug is a wonderful tan. I switch them around about every 500 miles. I have pulled off the carb and put in new intake gaskets and run a dyna ignition which doesn't use the VOES so no gasket leak there. I ran the SU on my '77 for a few years and when I got the '94 bagger, I sent it back to Rivera and they set it up for the evolution. Been on there since. Runs so well I haven't touched it other than minor tweeks. I plan on sending it back to them this winter and have them rebuild it. I can't find any other leaks and for my exhaust I am running stock (quiet) pipes off I believe off a 2005 bagger with cross-over. Hope someone comes up with an idea I haven't tried.

The super e seems to be touchy. My buddy's fat boy we never got it to run with the S&S, we spent 2 weeks on it. It would pop and run rough, finally we rebuilt the stock carb and it was fine. I know another guy with a similar problem after switching to the S&S turned out to be weak ignition that was magnified by the new carb. He replaced the ignition and all was good.
Good luck
