Default Choke problem

Purchased a 1990 electra glide. Was sitting for years. I cleaned the carb. I can get it to start with the choke on after it has warmed up I go to turn the choke off and the bike cuts off. I have messed with the idle and that seems not be the problem. Any advice would be great.. Thanks

Sounds like the jets are still fouled.Check your fuel flow as well.Maybe a crack in the hose.Aw hell, who am I kidding.Could be any number of things from old gas to a intake problem, rust in the tank, plugged petcock, lean condition....etc.
I know because last year I bought an '83 Kaw 750 for my son that had only 7500 miles and had to run through the whole fuel system. It had sat for 8 years in a shed.Carbs were nicely varnished.Runs like a champ now though.

Unless you have one huge vacuum leak, your problem is still in the carb, It's not clean.

Welcome .
You provide no info. in your stats. so i must assume you are a newby.
Change the oil and oil filter !
Flush out the fuel tank and fuel lines .
REBUILD the carburator by complete disissembly and boil out cleaning . Purchase a carb. rebuild kit and rebuild the carb. according to the specs. included. This is a must and if you dont have a decent carb. the motor will not run properly !!! Do this correctly or everything you attempt after will be a big world of hurt !
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks guys... I cleaned the carb spotless with carb cleaner and alot of elbow work. The tank has no rust and as clean as can be with new 93 gas. New kn air filter and has straight pipes on it. It has a 175 and 43 jet in the carb that are clean as can be.I can get the bike to run at low rpms now with the coke off but when you go to give it gas it hesitates and just runs like crap. If i pull the choke out a little while riding it helps some but not worthy to ride how it is. The vos was not hooked up when i bought the bike the hose was cut. I put a new hose on and hooked it to the carb. I dont know if they guy before me has the wrong jetts in it. I stripped the bike down to the frame and restored it with new paint, tires, shocks,cd player, speakers, painted motor, mirrors, rotors, brake pads, tons of more and i cant get it to run right! Ahhhhh help... Thanks guys for all your help!

Rebuild the carb. If she's running fully chocked (but high idle) it's a fuel/air problem.

Like most have said here, it's a lean condition either the idle circuit or a vacuum leak.
With todays fuels I would bet that there's a blockage in one of the idle passages, it sounds like you also have a problem with the accelerator pump/circuit too.
The carb needs to be removed completely torn down and soaked in solution overnight then all of the passages blown out.

Thanks guys... the carb has a brand new rebuild kit in it .. I sprayed started fluid around the intake manifold to see if there was a leak .. Motor never reved up.. So I don't think there is a leak.. Can the vacuum operated switch go bad? What jet sizes should I have in the carb or what is recommended should I say.. Straight pipes , kn intake .. Thanks for all the help first time I have joined a forum and this is awesome for all the help!
