Lightbulb Custom Battery Cables

It is easy to get stuck in a rut and fail to think outside the box, as I believe the young say these days! Moving my battery to under the seat on my 1990 Glide, also fitting a 2.0kW starter, I decided new shorter butch battery cables would be a jolly good idea. I looked for a Harley set here in the UK but couldn't find any suitable, so ordered a set from an after-market supplier in the USA. And waited. Seems that set have gone astray, so the supplier kindly sent another set and still I wait, 2 months or so after placing my order.

This sort of thing can get really frustrating, so I took a second look here in the UK and, eureka, found a firm who supply equipment for racing cars, including made-to-measure battery cables. They offer optional cable sizes and terminal styles and sizes, also pretty well any length. Better still they cost little more than half the price of the US variety (including shipping) and were ordered Monday, delivered Wednesday, just two days from order! Now why didn't I think of that before?!

I now have 240 Amp 'floppy' cables, with Tin-plated brass ring terminals and heat shrink each end, indistinguishable from those I still await! So here's a cheer for 'Electrical Car Services' of Rayleigh Essex.

So especially if you live outside North America, keep a look out for other types of local supplier than the dedicated Harley outlets.

Well I didn't until very recently! I'd like to say I have my nose on the grindstone all the time, but can't truthfully make that claim.

Not sure about you (I might just have a weak nose) but I think rubbing my nose on a grind stone would hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
