Not evo specific but i trust my evo buddies in giving me correct answers. I'm looking at a couple 5.75" stretched headlights at jireh. They are listed as bates style or springer. Can anyone tell me the difference?

If I'm reading right, from this link, I think it's the way you have to mount it. Bates is a bottom mount, close to the ring, as you can see in this pic, on the left. One on right, is stock mount, further back, for a Springer. 8-151 is stock re-placement for
FXSTS Softail Springer 1993 &
later/ 8-152 is
For FXDWG, FXST & FXWG, 1980 & later and
FXSTS 1988 thru 1992. With bates style tabs &
mount block. Also for use on custom applications hth
