Didn't pick up that he had the S&S carby.....with your symptoms I would look at the accelerator pump, had a 1987 Softie in last week with the same symptoms and an S&S....turns out the accelerator pump was stuck from standing around....apart from getting the spring back on correctly it was an easy fix.

Would running Sea-foam through her possibly help if this was the problem?

With all due respect to THC I think Seafoam is JUNK. The s&s is the easiest carby to work on bar none. It may be 4 screws to drop the bowl but I think it is 3. 3 for the tear drop, 3 for the mounting plate then you're in the carburetor.
Was cleaning the softie and ya got this: idle, throttle, supply and overflow.
Fltr has a cv, its got: idle, throttle, supply, overflow, vent, choke, cruise and voes.
Only recommendation that comes to mind is to take the usual two breathers that are fouling your pistons and vent elsewhere. Lotsa carbon buildup and thanks to Jasper he explained this one to me.

3 short screws and one long one to drop the bowl.

I have been recommended seafoam but I don't really have opinion on it as I have used it but don't really see a difference. It could be that the vehicle I was putting it in didn't really need it. I just don't know for sure.

Traildog,
You scored on that J&S jack!!! I just bought one in June (new) and paid over $400 delieverd to my house. It's a nice jack. Very well built! I haven't had a chance to use it yet, as I have been painting and fixing my parents home. They are in their mid 80's and on a pension - so they get free labor out of me : )

Thanks! I looked and looked on craigslist and ebay (never EVER saw one on ebay) and this one popped up on my CL phone app.

You're gonna LOVE it! I will "park" my bike on it EVERY night, because it rolls so well in in the garage and is SUPER stable.

Good for you helping your Parents!
