75,000 miles, EV27 cam, super trap exhaust and power commander III are all the add-ons.
I want to check the top end and cam bearings because I think the engine is a little noisy. I have the gasket set, but if I take it apart I should do some more to it, head work or pistons or both.
Any suggestions? Would like to keep it around $1,000 or less.
I do my own wrenching.
i am not saying these parts are worn out but need to be checked for wear 75 thousand miles motor
the tips of the rockers
the bushings in the rockers and the shafts for wear
the camshaft / bearing and nose cone bushing
lifter rollers and the wear in the lifter blocks
Valve guides and valve wear - rymac the valve springs for tenshion
pistons / rings & cylinder roundness
front rod twist loosness and the pin bushings
oil pump gear slots for heavy scraches
Johnjzjz covered all the pieces that you should look at. That being said with 160 psi of compression I would guess that the top end was freshened up or the bike was ridden and maintained properly.

Here's my 2 cents. After having a rear lifter wheel come apart at just a hair under 50k, I would replace them without question. Especially if you don't know for sure when, or if they have ever been changed. When I did my cam same ev-27, my motor only had 1k on it and the new cam was a bit noisier then the stock one.,,
