Default Jet size question.

As some of you know the rebuild on my motor is finally coming together, and it won't be long before it's all back together. Before I order a kit from CV performance though, I'm not sure on what size jets I'll need with the combo I'll be running, or rather a starting place.

Here is the combo we're looking at...

I went with a V-thunder 3010
Paughco 1 3/4" drag pipes with lollipops
Arlen Ness big sucker

The carb right now is running a 45 idle jet, and if I remember correctly, a 175 main jet. I'm thinking of starting with a 180 main jet, and if that doesn't work stepping the slow jet up to a 48? I know I won't know just quite what I need until I ride it, but I'd like to know what you guys recommend as a good starting place.

when you add a hi flow jet tube and needle that comes with a performance kit / we find you need to go down on the jetting --

i would pose this question to whom you are buying the kit from - they should know if they dont - than buy the kit from someone else -- johnjzjz

I'm running a 46 slow and 180 main w/ a velocity needle and emulsion tube, all CV Performance.
My setup is 10:1 wisecos, VT 3020, drilled out ac w/ hp filter, se slip on's, and se module. Runs pretty good w/ this setup, but has a very slight bog/hesitation from cruise to WOT. When I had the 45 slow jet in the bog was not there, very responsive, but the plugs looked totally clean. At that time I didnt have the emulsion tube or the 180 main in, so I think I'll go back to the 45 and leave everything else the same.
I think with your setup I would leave the jets alone, and use the velocity needle and emulsion tube as well. Since they are so cheap I would get 1 size up slow and main (46/180) just in case you need them. I would recommend getting their ez adjust for the idle mixture also, makes it much easier.
Since we have similar bikes and live at basically the same elevation, I would imagine your AF requirements to be somewhat alike.

Yeah... I don't know if you've been to Tallahassee but it can get pretty hilly up here in the pan handle and south GA, but it can't make that much of a difference. I was hoping to get some input from you, thanks!
