Started pulling her down for the "inspection" she needs. It appears that my rear cylinder has a leaking head gasket...could be my cold knock that goes away after warm up. She argued, didn't want to come apart. Tomorrow I might get the front end apart.

Yup, rear head gasket is bad. At least I don't have to pull the engine out to fix it. The front cylinder looks good.
Going to jump to the "next" update since she has to come semi-apart.

Are the cylinder studs original, installed with the flange at top?

Head bolts original?

The "house" is in poor condition, we knew that going in. We've decided to convert the "shop" into the main house...(cheaper than fixing the old house). But it's gunna be at least another year or so before we can do that. In the meantime, I'm just been to cheap to get a heat source up there.

Had S&S on it when I rebuilt the topend years ago. I used all Cometic MLS gaskets on it.
