Anyone had any issues with baffle in Python 2 into 1? I have had my pipe on for about 3 months and was really happy with everything, the look, the sound and the performance. About 10 days ago I noticed a bit of a rattle on start up, and when going for a burl the other day with bro-in-law (I was on his 07 FXST) I could hear the effing rattle when he was in front.
I took the baffle out and the bloody thing is cracked on the outlet.
I will get my cousin to weld it up, but it pisses me off still!
Anyone know if Big city thunder (or others)make a baffle for Pyton 2-1?
Just in case anyone else has an inquiry, BCT does not make a baffle for the Python 2-1, but they were very prompt and courteous and if I need a baffle for a future pipe they will be my 1st port of call.
So, it appears I am the onlyperson in the world with a python 2-1 with a defective baffle. Sorry to have annoyed anyone! I will now go back to sleep.ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
You are not the only one out there, I had the same problem. I welded it up, and it cracked again in a different spot. eventually I got pissed off and welded a piece of 2 1/4" straight pipe all the way down the center of the muffler, and that seemed to fix that( no baffle). I now run a Bassani 2-1 pro (short) street pipe and like it better.
Python are advertised as the same quality as Vance & Hines, who make them. If V&H crack like this after 3 months they must be crap as well. I bought them from Eastern Performance, and emailed them to advise them of the cracking, asking how they intended to rectify the problem, and they told me they have a replacement baff at $42. I will reply telling them I was thinking more along the lines of replacement at no cost!!!!
Dont feel cheated, I bought mine when they first came out, and no one had replacement parts. If I called Drag Specialties they had me call Vance & Hines, when I called Vance & Hines they told me to call Drag Specialties, Python wouldnt even talk to me because I'm not a vender. Their $hit is junk like most others, but it is one of the better looking pipes out there.
