Wife was riding her Deluxe when suddenly it rev'd briefly, blew the dipstick out of the oil tank and started running on one cylinder. Plugs look good but fear I've got a possible hole in a piston. Any thoughts??

You will discover that there may not be any compression on one cylinder. Hole or not it will be piston related somehow unfortunately. Ron
Basically, the compression (of what's leftover) from one of the pistons got into the crankcase - so mush so to blow the dip stick. \\; Compression check will show which one. \\; Problem is what sort of pieces got into the oil.
A friend broke a rocker arm and produced a similar result. With a valve not opening, the piston continued to pump but with no where to go, the pressure went into the crankcase.
To all that replied, thanks. I took it apart and found that the piston had started to melt. I ended up boring it out .10 over and cleaned-up the valves.
