Default quick question

Is "squish area" biker slang for compression ratio? If no then what is the squish
or squish area
Onced a man told me it is better to let everyonethink that i am a fool than to
open my mouth and erase all doubt ! So I'll confess I always thought engine
building was to open the SE pro racing catolag and write down a bunch of numbers
grab my wallet and run at a fast pace to the harley parts counter
Well I was wrong
now I am ready to listen

the "squish area" is the place where the piston "almost" touches the head -- the area of the head outside of the bathtub area. It is very important in performance motors to get the space of the squish just right, too loose and there is too much air/fuel in it (that could cause pinging) and if it's too tight.... the piston makes damaging contact.

On my sea-doo, I run the squish as tight as .030, and if there are any slight imperfections on the head or piston, after a few hours of 7,000 rpm, you'll see the marks on the opposite side. That's tight squish.
