Default Help needed

I have a new Ultra Classic on order (06).

I am desirous of changing the air intake to a Harley Screamin Eagle and changing the exhaust.

My dealer told me that Harley has discontinued offering the tuner and the off road pipes.

Which pipes and tuner do you recommend. I want performance and I want to hear the pipes!

The SE Performance Mufflers will no longer be available after 1 May...

My boss (Dealer Principal) said this after the Winter Dealer Meeting.....

As far as the SERT, it isn't scheduled to go away, not yet...

EPA is really laying the smack down on HD.....

Guess who's next???? Dynojet, RecTech, S&S, and all these other companies, as they are marketing the very same components that the EPA is against.... all they have to do is get a compliance certificate from the fed.....

If you are going slip-ons, Kerker, V&H, Rineharts, Wild Pigs... the list goes on.... it's the sound that YOU want that is important....

IMO SERT is the only way to go, a bit pricey, but should you decide further down the road that you want to make some mods, you just reprogram....

Thanks for the quick reply.

I found a dealer with a SERT in stock. They want $450 for it. Fair or not? I certainly want one in hand when my new cycle arrives in early June.

Definitely going with the SE air intake.

I want slip ons..something deep sounding and louder than stock and louder than the off road SE performance mufflers on my Road King.

Can you recommend whether or not I should snage the SERT for $450 and now knowing what I want for sound can you recommend a specific slip on?

Thanks!

Get the SERT and a set of V&H.... Your choice of cut, if you can't get the SE Muffs.... Myself, if you wanted and could get them, are the one piece touring performance muffs... Slash down or up... nice thing is no end caps needed, and they sound good... Not harsh, but a little growl... Samsons sound good too, just flow a bit too much for my likes, but other guys like them, and are quite popular....

Ken,

That is the list price for the SERT. You might want to check M&M Cycle http://www.mandmcycles.com/ They usually sell for around 20% off.

Good afternoon!

Thanks for the tips and help!

I made a deal today on a Screaming Eagle Race Tuner and a set of slip on Vance and Hines mufflers from Mark over at mandmcycles.

My Ultra is to be produced next month and Mark assured me that I will have the components from in time for installation at the dealership.

My dealership said that they wouldn't have any problem installing the SE Air Cleaner, the Tuner and Mufflers. They said that they would charge me $90 to install these items and do a base setup. They told me that I needed to visit them again at 2500 miles and that they would fine tune and dyno my Ultra for $250 at that time.

Does this sound fair?

Or can I tune it myself with the Race Tuner?

Thanks!
