Default 96"/Andrews 26H ?

Hi there,
I have an 09 FLHT with SE intake, V&H slip-ons and V&H FuelPak installed. What can one expect by just dropping in a set of cams such as the Andrews 26h ? I ride primarily 1 up and do like th open up the throttle on occasion. Looking for the pros/cons. Thx for any input, Troop

26`s will give some low end grunt, works good with a little higher than stock compresion,(-.040 off heads).not a firebreather cam,but not a bad choice for a mild upgrade

I had the 26 cams in my 07 UC and I now have the 21cams in my 09 UC,I prefer the 21's much more.

Did you keep the rest of the motor stock (other than intake/exhaust/FI stuff)?

Yes,the only difference between both bikes are the headers, the 07 had V&H true duals, but the 09 weighs more with slightly better gearing. My 07 felt the same as stock with the cam change until I was well over 3500 RPM,I just don't ride there much so I just wasted money IMO.

True duals kiiled the TQ on the 07 and the 09 has a 2-1-2 which helps the low end a bunch compared to the TD's , also they changed the gearing from 07 to 09 which helps the TQ feel on the 09 , not a fair comparison between the 21 and the 26 in those 2 bikes. I know you were trying to help, just my observation.

I also tried the 26 cams with the stock header it just didn't seem to make a difference but I never had it on a dyno in that configuration, too much heat on the right leg.
Joe Minton you may have heard of him recommends using the 21 cams not the 26 or 37 cams in the 96.

Not to change the subject, but here's a thread with a dyno sheet of what Jamie at fuelmoto was able to get with the Woods, tw6-6 cams and a dyno tune. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...no-charts.html.

Heres the different dynos of my stock 07 96'' and after stg1 with the andrews 26 cams installed

As U can see there is a big difference (from 10-20% increase) in the tq lines.. and I am really happy and pleased with them... The 21's will move the tq line about 250 rpm's to the left...
