Default CV Carb Running Rich

03 Deuce CV carb running rich. Have not made any changes to the bike from when it was running great to now running rich, just slowly began running rich. Same jets, same pipes, same everything. Fouled out the plugs. Took carb apart, cleaned the jets, etc. Replaced the rubber collar on the manifold which had a small tear, but I would think an air leak here would lean it out. Any case replacing it didn't help. Replaced Enrichener cable and enrichener valve as well. Float was a little off so reset that. Nothing has corrected problem. Idle is inconsitent except being very rough. Sometimes high when started, sometimes too low. Idle fuel mixture screw does not seem to cause a reaction even when bottomed out. Gas mileage went from 40+ down to 33, even with new plugs.

Any suggestions/ideas?

Thanks

Does the Deuce have a vacuum line from the carb to the petcock, some Sportys I know have had a rich condition caused by the petcock going bad and fuel coming thru the vacuum line.

Is it rich all the time or after you let the bike sit??? If it sits check the needle and seat. Or the petcok is another good thing to look at.

Yeah, it's pretty much rich all the time. It does have a vacuum line that I blew out but didn't check the petcock. It feels like it just isn't getting enough air into the system to lean it out. I even removed the air cleaner thinking it might be restricting air flow, but no effect. I'll investigate the shut off system tonight when I get home.

Thanks guys
