First of all I would like to say "howdy".
I recently gotten a hold of a 74 super glide. This is my first shovel, needs a lil work but that's ok.
I just rebuilt the carb, bendix, changed the gaskets between the intake and heads. The motor will run for a lil bit then die.
Am I suckin air or needle out of wack.It only has the air needle and throttle stop needle.
Could it be the condenser and points?
Please forgive me for what "experienced wrenchers" would find easy.Like I said I just got he bike.My other bike is a 98 fatboy.I have always liked the shovel so I thought I could learn and save this gem all in one move.
Thanks for any advice,I am sure I'll askagain.

Joe...The first thing you need to do is determine if it is running out of fuel or loosing fire. When it quits, check the plugs for spark. If you have spark, check the fuel line for flow. If you have flow, check the bowl for fuel. I would take a guess at the float isnot working correctly. On a Bendix, the small spring that goes on the float pin has to be in the right position. It has to go between the bowl to hold tension on it. If it isn't where it is suupposed to be, the float will stick at the bottom. There is only one adjustment on a Bendix. That is the low speed air-fuel screw at the top. 1 and 1/2 turns out from the bottom is a good starting point. The main jet is fixed, which also holds the bowl on. Good luck with it. Did it run OK before you did the carb?
Thanks guys. I will tear into the bowl and check the float. That lil spring has to be tricky to set right,I thought I had it.
She was running "ok" before.I noticed the gaskets were bad, thats why I rebuilt the carb.
Thanks again for alll your help.
