Engine knock
I have a bad knock in my 89 softail evo. I thought it was spark knock, but it does it even with 93 octane. The engine isn't stock, and has higher compression. Not sure what was done, old owner is dead. It's really loud, bad when cold, but turns into a ticking noise after it get hot. I used a long screwdriver to locate the exact noise, and it is coming from the top end. I guess that would be the heads (forgive my ignorance). It is coming from both heads, but more so on the rear one. Will it go ka-boom and if so, what do I need to do to stop it?
