Default Mikuni HSR45 Jet sizing

Guys- I have a 2001 FXDX. I just got a good deal on a Mikuni HSR45 carb and a screaming eagle inake manifold. Motor is stock, exhaust is a vance & hines 2-1 pro pipe that I modified/shortened.

I am not here to get the answer "you should have got a HSR42". just dont

My question is: Given that I have the HSR45 what jet sizing should I use? Do I need to jet down from what came with the carb?

I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks

Sorry man but that carb is just too big for a stock 88. I'll make your bike run worse. I know that you didn't want to hear that, but you'd be better off leaving your stock CV on your bike and selling the Mikuni for a profit, or saving it for when you build your motor. That 45 Mikuni is a great carb on a bigger hot rod motor, but not on a stocker. It's kind of like getting a good deal on a pair of boots that are way too big for your feet. Would you really want to wear them?

I just jetted the carb down and installed it. Holy **** this carb is awesome compared to stock. No bogging down or throttle hesitation like people have said. No loss of bottom end power. I can definitely feel the performance increase.

Default HSR 45 vs 42

2000fxd
I'm running 95", basani 2-1 exhaust, HD high-flow w/k&n a/cleaner, KuryAkyn G4 cams (gear drive), S&s heads (100cc), and hi-compression Screamin' Eagle pistons with .030" head-gaskets (still haven't figured out the comp. ratio, yet)...
I had an HSR 42 but traded it for the 45 quite some time ago while I was running McClendon flowed stock heads (Evo intake valves and ported by Scott @ H&M Performance), 95" jugs, Andrews .550 (tw55 and tw55g) cams and V&H long-shots (aka S.E. double barrel shotguns) w/shortened and drilled baffles.
Though the HSR45 gets me to top-end PDQ, I feel like I've lost that snappy, front-end-lifting torque the 42 gave me. Maybe due to loss of intake velocity? MPG is the same ~ 40mpg ...
I'm in that gray area between going to a square 4x4 -100ci - or backing down to the 42cc carb. (even though I believe the 95" bore/stroke ratio is the best HD combination there is).
Any comments or suggestions here?

Just upgraded a buddy's '04 Fattie (all stock otherwise). Used the above settings except for the needle - used the stock 97 needle.

Air screw is 1 turn out, and she fires right up cold with some choke, then settles into a good idle quickly. Return-to-idle after throttle blip is crisp.

On the road, she pulls hard, and smooth - no loading up when I come off the throttle quickly - all-in-all, the correct settings for a stock TC-88 (with V&H Longshots & the Mikuni Stage II intake).

Now to put some S&S 510's into her.

I'm using the hsr45 on my 96". Finally got it about perfect with 25 pilot, -98 needle 1 notch lower, 60 pump, 170 main. Pulls hard and transition all the way up to full throttle is seamless, with no loading up when backing off quickly. I might try the 50 pump, though. MPG is between 36 & 41, depending where/ how I ride.
