lining up cam pinion & breather vale timing marks
I was wondering if some one could tell me how to line these up ? When the nose cone was removed the cam came out with it so the position of it was lost . I was told if the front piston is at TDC that the timing mark on the pinion shaft should be at 90 degrees & timing mark on the fly wheel (which should be a straight line) should be in the centre of the hole. Is this correct? Help would be appreciated.
Thanks Mike...

it is completely ironic that you ask because literally 3 minutes ago I was searching google for the same thing...wow crazy...good day for a cam change i guess
Anyway, there are tick marks on the breather gear, cam and pinion gear. jack up the bike, put it in 5th and rotate the rear tire until the tick on the main gear it at 12:00, then put your cam back in and line it all up. no biggie.
side note, the reason I was looking this up as well is becuase I though the tick on the main gear had come off or somting. you have to clean it pretty good with some dry towels they get your face really in there to see it. I had to grab a flash light.
hope this helps
